Conducted by the University of Massachusetts Lowell Poll
Massachusetts CEOs are split on the direction of the national economy, 29% think its growing while 30% think it's shrinking. They express similar sentiments concerning the state's economy, 27% think its growing while 28% think its shrinking. However, when asked to describe their own business 55% say their business is growing while 22% say it is shrinking. This is a significant difference indicating an increase in employment is inevitable. It also fits a classic pattern, CEOs are generally optimistic about their companies fortunes while pessimistic about the regional and national economy.
